The Senior Technical Lead will be responsible for leading the technical assessment of the current Claims Management System, and participating in the preparation of the assessment and buy/build recommendations analysis. Upon completion of the assessment and decision-making process, the Senior Technical Lead will be responsible for designing the solution as well as overseeing the development, integration, delivery, implementation, and maintenance of the selected solution(s).

This position is located at our corporate office in St. Petersburg, FL.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
  • Contribute to full development life cycle, including: requirements analysis, functional design, technical design, programming, testing, documentation, implementation, and on-going technical support
  • Understand the technical implications of each potential solution and the integration impacts
  • Guide strategic technology discussions and decisions
  • Develop a thorough understanding of business specifications and collaborate design and code artifacts that meet the specifications
  • Ability to independently develop the technical work plan that accurately identifies tasks, activities and deliverables and schedules resources
  • Ability to identify delivery risk and develop mitigation plans
  • Contribute to the application technology roadmaps and proof of concepts
  • Manage individual contribution or group effort to tight deadlines
  • Provide technical leadership and guidance to the off sight and local technology staff
  • Motivate peers and exercise influence with management and stakeholders
  • Collaborate the completion of design and code reviews to meet standards and best practices
  • Ensure development is performed to the specifications and adherence to security and compliance standards
  • Manage resolution of defects during the QA and UAT testing process
  • Contribute to project estimation
  • Post-deployment support

  • Proven Technical Leadership experience
  • Solid Architectural and Software life cycle experience for enterprise software
  • Expert level knowledge and experience, 8 years, in one or more of the following technologies:
    • J2EE based applications, Object Oriented technologies, MS SQL 2005+, C# .NET, ASP .NET, WCF, WPF, SOAP, or Web Services
  • Knowledge of Claims Management or Third Party Administration (TPA) processing preferred
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, time management and organizational skills
  • Strong work ethic and customer service orientation
  • Excellent interpersonal and communications skills – both verbal and written
  • Ability to:
    • Pick up new technologies, solve complex technical problems and multitask between different projects
    • Prioritize work with tight schedules and target dates
    • Work independently as well as in a team environment
    • Multi-task and follow through on assignments to completion
    • Work effectively in a fast-paced, rapidly changing, deadline-driving environment
  • Experience working with a combination of offsite and local applications development services is a plus
  • Commitment to professional growth; seeks opportunities for development and shares knowledge with others
  • Strong MS Office Suite skills
  • Strong MS Development tools experience
Education and/or Experience:

Bachelor of Science and eight (8) years industry experience; 6 years’ experience providing technical leadership over large software development initiatives

Certifications/Licenses: Relevant MS certifications preferred

Computer Skills:

Proficiency in all Microsoft Office 2010 products

Environmental Factors/Physical Demands:

Work is performed in an office environment. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to have the ability to maintain active customer and employee communication; access, input and retrieve information from the computer system; enter alpha-numeric data into a computerized system often while listening on the telephone. Candidates could be subject to repetitive motion activities such as typing and data entry. Candidate could also be subject to bending, reaching, kneeling, stooping and lifting up to thirty (30) pounds.
