The Technical Lead is responsible for ensuring that processes resulting in delivery excellence and high customer satisfaction effectively occur throughout the services sales and engagement cycle, managing all aspects including budgeting, staffing and resource allocation, delivery quality, risk management, communication management, governance and status reporting. MicroStrategy Technical Leads are an integral part of the world's largest staff of MicroStrategy Certified Engineers and leverage knowledge and best practices across our global team for customer success. Job Duties (include but not limited to):
  • Delivers billable consulting services. Efforts may be directed toward various MicroStrategy and / or supporting products and services
  • Ensures a solid understanding of business objectives associated with projects and/or programs to which he or she is assigned
  • Anticipates, monitors, quantifies (wherever possible) and communicates the business impact of specific project deliverables, and the project overall, to customers' and partners' success
  • Defines a project approach to ensure customer, partner and MicroStrategy account success. Provides critical and constructive guidance to customers and partners, steering them towards a long term vision for success
  • Leverages and extends MicroStrategy best practices for service delivery
  • Manages all aspects of projects, including budgeting, staffing and resource allocation, delivery quality, risk management, communication management, governance and status reporting. In addition to projects delivered directly to customers, scope may also include partnered projects
  • Ensures high levels of customer satisfaction with project deliveries and stimulates further account growth
  • Leads and / or creates technical and / or functional designs to support the customer requirement and business objective. Scope may include standalone applications or more complex interdependent systems
  • Leads and / or participates in implementation activities, which may include providing technical oversight
  • Leads and / or supports the Services management team, helping to scope and estimate the project
  • Motivates teams for superior performance
  • Communicates effectively with team members both internally and with customers and partners, including at the executive level
  • Mentors team members
  • May be called upon to deliver classroom training for internal audiences
  • May actively define methodology for specific solutions / offerings
  • Demonstrates well-developed situational awareness
  • Develops an awareness of the competitive landscape including key differentiators and competitive positioning
  • Actively participates in internal knowledge-sharing forums
  • Effectively demonstrates influence towards positive outcomes, internally and externally with customers
  • Works within an internal sphere of influence typically bounded by project or regional activities

Job Requirements:
  • Bachelors or equivalent degree in a business, technical, or related field
  • 5+ years of experience participating in the delivery of technology services engagements, including project management experience
  • Commitment to personal and professional growth
  • Experience designing and / or implementing MicroStrategy or other business intelligence solutions preferred
  • Proven ability to successfully lead and deliver projects on time, on budget, exceeding customer expectations, and delivering strong business results
  • Excellent written communication and oral presentation skills
  • Ability to effectively lead a team
  • Staffing to local projects wherever possible, however Technical Leads can expect periods and assignments of up to 75 - 80% travel
