Data and Analytics Platform Technical Lead

Technical Lead is responsible for developing a deep technical understanding of our data and analytics platforms, participating

in

and

providing

technical leadership to project teams, to help clarify business needs and requirements, perform analysis, design, development, integration, and maintenance of highly complex technology solutions while driving

the

prescribed roadmap towards

our

future state

.

Exhibits a strong understanding of overall enterprise architecture and standards to provide technical guidance and feasibility of technology solutions, where the enterprise could/should be leveraged. Applies

in-depth

knowledge of multiple database engines, schemas and ETL tools to project team solution and design sessions. Apply significant knowledge of industry trends and developments to improve reliability and stability of our environment to the business.

Responsibilities include, but are not limited to the following:

Planning

: Participates in planning sessions for highly complex and critical systems with team members cross disciplines. Provides technical expertise based on business and technical knowledgebase. Provide recommendations regarding system options, risks, cost/benefit analysis, and impact on cross-functional business goals, objectives, and processes. Has a clear

end-to-end

view of the environments and/or solutions .

IT Strategy

: Participates in long-term technology strategy and planning for The Hartford Mutual Funds division.

Communication

: Educates and influences IT leadership in areas of expertise.

Technical Specifications

: Provide guidance for technical designs. Works across the organization with other IT experts to provide business process or design recommendations based on long term business and IT organization strategy. Participate and consult on complex, multi platform, enterprise level applications and custom integration solutions including major enhancements, interfaces, functions, and features. Act as an internal expert

for

The Hartford enterprise platforms.

Translate Business Requirements

: Translates business and technical requirements for enterprise level projects.

Programming Language

: Maintains understanding of multiple programming languages and software technologies.

Workload Management

: May serve as technical lead on a project, assisting in the definition of project scope and resource management.

Maintenance

: Responsible for coordinating all software upgrades and maintenance releases of the data and analytics platforms.

Production Support

: Responsible for production support across multiple platforms and for the resolution of production support issues and assists in the resolution of escalated support issues dealing with the data and analytics platforms. Responsible for managing vendor problem resolution process as needed.

System Administration:
Broad knowledge of system administration across multiple platforms and operating systems. Ability to step in and take responsibility for system administration as needed.

Disaster Recovery:
Assists with DR planning, testing and documentation.

OJT Training

: Provide technical consultancy and training for staff, developing their knowledge and experience level. Leads or assists

in

the development of technical training and evaluation of technical expertise of staff, and assists in gap analysis.

Research Emerging Technologies

: Researches, analyzes, and validates advanced and emerging technology solutions for the line of business supported.

RFP

: Is responsible for the technical aspects of RFPs and proposals.

Vendor Evaluation

: Participates in the evaluation and selection of packages, tools, and external vendors. Assists with cost-benefit and risk analysis. Make recommendations for buy vs. build decisions.

Documentation:
Responsible for documentation of overall infrastructure, operational processes, application interfaces and other supporting documentation.

Qualifications

Qualifications

Requires in-depth experience and understanding in host

-

based, distributed systems, cloud base technology, storage

and

retrieval and related services, client services, software, hardware, technologies and tools.

Requires in-depth experience and understanding of database engines, schemas and integration as well as software development methodologies.

Technical training, Bachelor's degree, or equivalent work experience.

Certifications in area of expertise.
