Description: To leverage our scale and drive efficiencies as we pursue new e-commerce opportunities around the globe, we are creating a new business unit that will be responsible for driving online growth around the world – both in developed markets where we currently have stores and an online presence and in markets where we don ’t. As the Sr Technical Manager you ’ll have the opportunity to help define and implement components for the next-generation, global e-Commerce Platform. This position will be responsible for design and implementation of various application system components in a massively scalable, high performance, multi-tenant, international eCommerce platform. The Sr.

manager will be working together with the Architects, Engineering Managers, Business and Product management teams. Management Responsibilities: Manage talented individuals to successfully deliver business initiatives. Partner with Product management to help define road map. Create a close working relationship with the business to identify the pain points and provide better services.

Communicate effectively with stakeholders to manage expectations. Establish and manage working relationships with 3rd parties/vendors, to meet our schedules and quality standards Manage and develop the team, including hiring, goal setting, performance management, coaching, projects and training Work with team members to develop career paths and opportunities within the organization. Manage project timelines and budget. Assess training needs with team members, and develop training plans Understand and resolve issues and remove impediments that impact a team member ’s ability to perform to his/her optimal best Foster growth and skill acquisition/development for his/her team Technical Responsibilities: Lead technical initiatives with complex interdependencies, high impact to the department or organization.

Expert problem solver. Responsible to see that various team deliverables for projects meet deadlines Participate in technical design review meetings Responsible for application/system, including timelines, dependencies and deliverables Develop effective monitors for the responsible systems Serve as final decision maker for technical project issues Be the point person for escalations Required Skills/Experience: Excellent system analysis and design skills Working knowledge of Agile methodology Solid hands-on technical understanding and grasp of various systems within eCommerce solutions Experience working with Tomcat, Spring, Object relational mapping, and Java based technologies Have developed a vendor/fulfillment partner integration product for high volume eCommerce sites Ability to manage development teams based in multiple, global locations Experience implementing service-oriented (SOA) architectures and EAI technologies like Tibco Experience designing systems for extremely high traffic and transaction volumes Experience in similar roles at prominent Internet companies, with detailed knowledge about scaling issues and solutions Ability to work with business users, product managers, QA, Release, and UI and Platform Engineering teams to develop great e-commerce applications Minimum Educational Level: B.S. or M.S. in Computer Science or equivalent Experience: 8 to 10 years in overall software engineering design and development experience
