Overview: Management Science Associates, Inc. (MSA) is a diversified information management company that for nearly half a century has given market leaders the competitive edge in data management, analytics and technology. We are currently seeking an experienced Technical Manager to lead in the creation a new version of a product that is being built from the ground up while allowing for clients with the older version to easily migrate to the new one. The successful candidate must have knowledge and experience with large-scale OLTP from multiple perspectives: database, compute, information, performance, storage, network, process, flow, integration, security and application. This position will provide vision, leadership and strategy as well as actively participate in the design, implementation and subsequent operations.
Personnel management of QA and development teams
Develop and Maintain development work plans, guide and monitor adherence
Contribute to software development and QA process standards
Maintains technical competency and remains current as required to supervise information technology staff members
Requires a four-year degree in Computer Science/Information Technology, Computer/Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience
Requires at least eight years overall information technology experience.
Experience working as a technical lead a plus
Knowledge and experience with all layers of the SDLC and ALM process
Experience utilizing Agile/Scrum methodology for software product development
Previous experience designing and/or developing medium to large scale systems using OOAD and RDBMS a must
Experience or knowledge of BI tools a plus.
Proven Leadership and Project Management (organizational and planning) skills
Ability to work independently on multiple tasks
Experience managing, coaching, developing and hiring
Excellent organizational and communication skills, both oral and written, with the ability to prepare and deliver presentations
Experience working in an integrated product development team environment
Must possess a solid business sense to analyze IT viability and strategic vision
