As a Technical Manager you will be in charge of defining, improving and building new solutions and products within NBCUniversal. Working closely with the Director of the Media Applications team you will collaborate with our Lead Developers, Software Engineers and QA to implement new features or fixes, define deadlines and keep track of the progress of application development. You will also be involved in other activities such as operational meetings with users to gather requirements and define new workflows, product roadmap definition, coordination of user support and tracking issues or defects that require quick resolution.

The main focus of the team is Asset Management but this position requires working closely with groups in charge of other areas such as Order Management, Metadata governance and Media Transcoding and Distribution.

•Monitor software development progress and keep users and upper management updated.
•Manage resource requirements and identify project dependencies.
•Propose quality software solutions to solve complex workflow problems.
•Manage day-to-day software development activities and keep track of open support issues.
•Prioritize issue/feature requests and establish project plans and release deadlines.
•Lead requirements meetings that are effective and focused.
•Help build proof-of-concept solutions and evaluate new technologies.
•Work with other teams to establish data exchange protocols between our Asset Management products and other NBCUniversal applications.
•Strong technical background, with extensive hands-on programing experience.
•Experience in a lead software developer position (or similar).
•Minimum 2 years of experience in a management position.
•Experience working with complex, high availability systems as well as systems integration (like web services and/or JMS).
•Familiarity with Agile Software Development processes.
•Ability to multi-task across parallel product development tracks.
•Ability to work under little supervision as well as quickly identify issues that need to be escalated.
•Experience working in a flexible environment and under aggressive development schedules.
•Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
•Entertainment industry experience a plus.
