General Summary: This Supervisor carries out responsibilities within the technical operations production area by overseeing the area's Leads and Production employees, monitoring and coordinating daily outputs, and by balancing workflow across the production floor.Essential Job Functions: Carries out supervisory responsibilities in accordance with company policyDirectly supervises leads within the designated production departmentAnalyzes and resolves work problems, or assists workers in solving work-related issuesResponsible for the hiring, firing and disciplinary actions for the people within their designated production area.Responsible for the staffing of the production department, to include approval of planned sick and vacation approvals, in order to meet the company goals and the production schedule.Responsible for the implementation of any process improvements and/or changes.Responsible for payroll issues and time approvals for employees within their area.Estimates, requisitions, and inspects materials.Ensures quality of the finished product by continually reinforcing a strong and open workingrelationship between the Quality and Production Departments.Responsible for conducting annual performance appraisals for Leads in their department, including offering input for improvement and/or pay adjustment.Provides training to Leads and Production employees on key processes and procedures as applicable to their respective production area. Knowledge, Skills Abilities: Position will oversee two (2) Floor Leads and nine (9) Technical Operators at present, with plans to grow the area substantially in the next 12 months. Operations in the Technical area include CNC edging, pad printing , laser etching/cutting, plastic die stamping, and other related processes. Candidates are required to have a strong technical background in operating, or overseeing the operation of sophisticated equipment including multi-axis CNC's, Class I-IV lasers, and hydraulic presses. Candidate must possess an ability to manage several resources concurrently in a very dynamic environment, in conjunction with interrelated departments. Education Experience: CAD/CAM programming experience is preferred, and a background in SolidWorks is a plus.Experience with Lean Manufacturing principles, concepts, and implementation strategies is highly preferred.A minimum of a high school diploma, GED (or equivalent), however some level of college and/or technical coursework is preferredPhysical RequirementsMust be able to read computer screen and various reportsMust be able to hear well enough to communicate with employees and othersMust be able to write, type, and use phone system
