Define product vision and strategy for business intelligence applications and infrastructure, including extraction, unstructured data stores, structured data stores, ETL, and reporting tools

Lead a cross-functional, dedicated Business Intelligence Team, partnering closely with engineers, project managers, lead data engineers, etc.

Be an advocate for Analytics & Intelligence across the company, preaching its benefits, answering questions, and generating interest in the “product”

Be the vocal chords for your group’s strategy and make sure senior management, leadership teams, and internal stakeholders are all on the same page

Follow, communicate, and implement industry and technology trends and best practices

Build out a knowledge repository to disseminate information effectively and ensure people use the data intelligently

Work with engineering to build out a data model that both meets business needs, but is also optimized for performance

4-8 years relevant experience

Technical- or engineering-related degree

Is a proven genius at delivering products that customers love and driving value for a business

Demonstrated mastery over all phases of the product lifecycle, including strategy development, OA, discovery (MVP), implementation, post-launch optimization (hello, QA and testing!), and sunset

An uncanny ability to develop and convincingly present recommendations based on qualitative and quantitative data

Incredible analytical and problem-solving skills

Knows the ropes of working with third party vendors

Expert at driving product vision and feature decisions on technology teams

Team-player mentality

Able and intelligent when it comes to query languages, website analytics, data representation modeling skills, and database technologies

No stranger to emerging data strategies such as S3 and other cutting-edge no-SQL products, and cloud-based data sources

Can speak technical concepts to business users, and vice versa

Comfortable leading technical discussions, including root-cause analysis investigations and technical evaluations of new tools or vendors

Nice to Haves:
Previous work in eCommerce or Retail

Experience in agile software development methodologies
