The role will focus on leading the deployment of new and improved products and services for the delivery of NBCUniversal VOD and Live content to internal and external business partners. The ideal candidate will drive product roadmaps, enhance existing workflows, identify process improvements, provide strategic recommendations, and lead cross functional technical and operations teams to design, build, and launch new products and execute on new initiatives.
Responsibilities will include gathering client requirements and enhancements, producing timely and scalable deliverables against those requests, and project managing the implementation and timelines. In addition to driving digital delivery solutions, the Technical Product Manager will be responsible for communicating and managing the operational documentation and training of the support staff to ensure that the systems and workflows in place are properly supported.
•Minimum 5 years Project Management experience with a proven track record of successful completion of high profile, complex digital media or broadcast-related projects
•Minimum 5 years experience in a role exhibiting excellent written and oral communications, effective interpersonal skills, and strong formal presentation abilities
•Minimum 3 years experience with digital media concepts: encoding, transcoding, streaming, media formats, media transfer technologies, etc
•Minimum 3 years of relevant work experience in the technology or media industry
•Minimum 3 years experience demonstrating strong technical, quantitative, analytical and financial modeling skills
•Minimum 3 years experience in enabling customer workflows and operations
•2 years experience with consumer and commercial Internet technologies, application hosting, content distribution strategies, and video content management systems
•2 years experience within Technical Operations, Broadcast Engineering or Information Technology with proven success in a variety of process improvement and software disciplines.
•2 years experience and knowledge of the television production process, broadcast operations, and live technical production requirements
•Excellent leadership, team management, relationship building, and interpersonal skills
•Knowledge of digital video transport methodologies, transcoding and metadata management.
•Experience in multiplatform digital content distribution (e.g. Broadband, iTunes, Hulu, etc.)
•Passion for new media distribution and keeping up to date with emerging platforms & the latest technology trends
•Design experience, specifically experience in media applications including video and audio
