Upromise is seeking a Technical Product Manager on its Product Development team. Reporting to the Sr. Technical Product Manager, the employee will be responsible for the day to day product management of the Upromise offering. The Technical Product Manager will help define strategic initiatives for, oversee the development efforts and feature releases and manage internal and external development teams as well as outside vendors. This position involves owning the product roadmap for, while understanding software and hardware that will drive traffic to the Upromise website while maximizing conversion rates. Writing detailed business requirements and use cases is a critiacal role for this function The ideal candidate will need the ability to set measurable objectives and analyze the successes and failures of those objectives. This position requires a passion for the web, strong self-motivation, solid organization and project management skills, and the technical skill set to manage and collaborate with web architects and developers. Previous experience as a Business Analyst writng business requirements will be helpful.

1. Product Management -- Managing current products in the portfolio by creating & implementing a product roadmap with cross functional Upromise & Sallie Mae teams
2. Product Development -- Identifying holes in the current Upromise offering and recommending potential technology or business solutions to solve them
3. Vendor Management -- Working with external vendors that manage Upromise offerings, while looking for innovative ways to expand upon the current relationships
4. Requirement Writing -- Writing BSD & SOW documentation that will support new Upromise initiatives
5. Presenting Results & Recommendations -- Once an idea is approved the Product Manager will need to present that idea to multiple management groups and organizations within Upromise/ Sallie Mae for approval

Subject to management review the product manager will be making decisions that shape the product offering for the future of Upromise and the products that we offer to our customers, including technology, vendor, timeframe, & cost structure.

Bachelor's Degree Business or Technical Field
3+ years min of experience in a product development role at an e-commerce company
3+ years of experience partnering with business owners to define and translate needs into business requirements and web-based solutions
4-6 years experience working with technical teams and strong technical understanding
Experience creating wireframes and/or comps to represent web design concepts
Proven ability to conduct ongoing analysis of current performance, with the goal of acquiring, retaining, and growing member relationships and install base.
Demonstrated ability to lead and motivate cross-functional teams
Experience presenting business cases to senior management
A Strong understanding of ecommerce trends and advancements that drive traffic, conversion & loyalty
Process and workflow experience
Experience writing business requirement documents is required (former Business Analyst experience preferred)

Web development or web design experience a plus
SEO experience a plus
Toolbar experience a plus
Affiliate Marketing experience a plus
Loyalty or reward program experience
