USC's Human Resources Division is seeking a Senior Technical Project Leader to join it's team. This Senior Technical Project leader will be a member of the Workday Technical Support unit in the Human Resources Division in managing Workday (human capital management system) configuration, updates, adoption of new features/functionality, testing around releases. Works closely with departmental functional leads to ensure Workday functionality aligns with evolving business needs and strategic objectives, and with ITS-EIS to make certain Workday configuration and data exchanges readily accommodate system integration requirements. Must have strong analytic skills and demonstrate Workday-specific competencies. Manages other technology for the division (e.g., case management tracking, workforce analytics). Areas of specialization: Payroll Compensation Benefits Absence Includes: Workday configuration and technical support for above referenced modules, including Web interface and mobile applications. Coordinate Workday reporting requirements/requests for above referenced modules. Troubleshooting of benefit vendor data exchanges (note: file format issues would be handled by ITS-EIS integrations). Job Accountabilities: Liaise with Workday Community - keep abreast of upcoming changes in features/functionality (3 releases per year; roadmap out 3 years); participate in brainstorms and advocate for USC requirements. Liaise with USC functional leads - understand/keep current with USC functional business requirements; notify Functional Leads of opportunities on Workday roadmap; assist with adoption. Liaise with external vendors (as applicable) - understand/keep current with business requirements (USC and vendors'); notify of opportunities on Workday roadmap and/or changes in vendors, plans, or plan design. Configure, track configuration changes, service requests for: a. Business processes b. Security ? organizations/roles c. New releases d. New functionality e. Requests for changes (e.g., supervisory orgs, roles) Assist in developing and organizing release plans, engaging Functional Leads, scheduling reminders, and coordinating testing for each release pace (time window 2.5-5 weeks). Work with Functional Leads to develop appropriate "stable" of test scenarios. Develop and maintain structured cycle of testing, regression testing parallel payroll testing, critical feature verification (not rise to level where regression testing is necessary) Identify, analyze and coordinate review/recommendations of uptake of features/functionality available in new releases. Assist with developing plans around decisions to adopt, postpone/put on roadmap or decline adopting for elective and "no choice" design features and functionality. Assist with development and maintenance of Workday documentation, job aids, help text and training tools. Alternate Organization Owner - Workday-delivered role assignment that configures, builds structure, roles. Report writing for referenced modules. Monitor weekly patch notes - grab off community and alert/distribute as appropriate.
Bachelor's degree Combined experience/education as substitute for minimum education
Minimum Field of Expertise:
Expert skill-level and specialized experience in specialty area. Experience with the design, modification, operation, installation, and maintenance of IT equipment and systems as well as information technology project management.
Preferred Field of Expertise:
Degree in information science or information technology. Certification in information technology project management.
