Job Functions


Promote the adoption of Detroit engines, axles and transmissions by Freightliner/Western Star dealer salespeople and our mutual customers with the assigned area of responsibility.

Internal Support:
Communicate and coordinate closely with Freightliner/Western Star District Sales Managers within assigned area of responsibility to understand current sales opportunities and highest priorities for dealer and customer support activities.

Provide proactive support to drive proper recommendations for specifications.

Participate in region and district level business review activities to provide training and support that will assist with District Sales Manager activities.

Deliver penetration results consistent with Detroit engine, axle and transmission targets.

Drive current and future product enhancements.

Dealer Support:

Provide product and sales training for dealer salespeople so that they become comfortable and confident promoting and selling Detroit engines, axles and transmission.

Review driveline specs for dealer salespeople to confirm that they are applying our engines, axles and transmissions properly for optimum performance and fuel economy.

Responsible for investigating and qualifying customer performance and fuel economy concerns, and coordinating involvement by Dealer and Freightliner factory personnel, as needed, to fully identify causes for customer concerns and to communicate Daimler’s assessment of situation and corrective action recommendations.

Coordinate with Daimler’s technical organization to answer dealer questions related to products.

Customer Support:

Act as a consultant to fleets to help them optimize truck fuel economy and performance.

Facilitate product orientation to drivers and fleet managers upon delivery of new trucks with Detroit components.

Coordinate and support Detroit plant tours for customers/dealers within area of responsibility.

Support pilot and specification reviews.

Act as Detroit component expert within assigned geographic territory.

Basic Qualifications

Bachelors degree with 2 years of related experience; OR an Associates degree with 4 years of related experience OR 8 years of related Daimler experience required.

Business experience in a truck related field is preferred.
Technical experience and acumen is preferred.

Additional Information

Final candidate must successfully complete a pre-employment drug screen and criminal background check.
