The individual in this position is responsible for managing the quality of all products manufactured, shipped, and distributed throughout OTG’s supply grid. This position oversees the identification of metrics, testing, recipe approvals and development of training and process tools. Provides technical knowledge and guidance to department personnel throughout the OTG business. Provides technical guidance on products and raw materials. Responsible for managing all lab testing and assignments. Responsible for the day to day operation of the lab, equipment, and associates working in it.

Job Responsibilities
· Responsible for the quality of all product manufactured, shipped, and sold across OTG’s supply grid
· Responsible for the development and distribution of the daily quality report
· Conducts weekly quality meetings with all manufacturing sites
· Optimizes each products operating window using Six Sigma methodology
· Creates confidential operating procedures for training site personnel and supervisors
· Collaborates with R&D to jointly approve recipe changes for manufacturing sites
· Monitor COAs on Raw Material shipments and conduct monthly supplier performance reviews with Technology Manager and Procurement Manager
· Owner of SAP Quality system with associated training
· Responsible for the development of quality control tests for all new products developed by the R&D group.
· Assist in the execution of plant trials of new product technologies
· Works with the R&D group on new product development initiatives to establish specifications and operating windows
· Responsible for maintaining and setting up master recipes in SAP
· Responsible for conducting performance reviews for all direct reports in accordance with company timelines
· Conducts interviews and recommends hiring of technical staff for the lab
· Develops SMART goals for team members within the group and monitors progress
· Develops people within the group to expand the skill set
· Determines the classification and recommends disposition of “off-spec” raw material and finished product and provides monthly information to finance to accrue inventory reserves
· Approves all finished products returned by customers for issuance of credit
· Responsible for developing, implementing, and enforcing finished product and raw material testing procedures at all manufacturing and transload locations (testing requirements, round robins, etc.)
· Responsible for responding to all Momentive Product Quality requests / concerns from customers
· Conducts causal analysis and develops corrective action for all product quality issues
· Identify and develop RTA's
· Recommends the acquisition of equipment and supplies
· Be responsive to customer needs for technical information on products
· Provide technical support for all customer questions
· Ensure that safe working practices are followed in the lab
· Other duties as assigned

Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering or Science discipline
- Minimum 5 years of industry experience
- Minimum 3 years of experience in a management role
- Certified Six Sigma Black Belt
- Experience working in a lab environment
- Demonstrated ability to effectively present information and transfer knowledge, engage an audience, and foster an enthusiastic learning environment
- Highly effective relationship management skills
- Excellent verbal, written communication skills
- Demonstrated experience in successfully managing multiple quality/process improvement projects
- Strong analytical and problem solving skills
- Ability to recommend alternative solutions and translate complex concepts into simplified and understandable examples
- Ability to drive change and work seamlessly across all levels of an organization
- Must be available to travel

Physical/Other Requirements

In order to be considered for this position candidates are required to submit an application for employment through, be at least 18 years of age, willing to take a drug test and submit to a background investigation as part of the selection process.

Candidates are required to have unrestricted authorization to work in the United States.

If currently a Momentive employee, you must have current satisfactory work performance and in most cases, have been in your current role 18 months.
