Under the general direction of the TSR Supervisor/Manager or Operations Manager, incumbent is responsible for developing custom solutions to each client’s needs relating to the handling, transportation, and disposal of each assigned client’s hazardous waste. An important aspect of the position includes working directly with each client to assess and understand their unique needs (including their unique financial circumstances) to design a customized solution to fit those needs.

This responsibility includes collecting and analyzing information concerning the client’s waste stream and preferences, advising the client regarding the advantages and disadvantages of various disposal options, receiving and considering feedback from the client and making adjustments to the recommendations where appropriate based on feedback received. Incumbent is further responsible for making expert decisions after carefully weighing and balancing all plausible choices encompassing chemical grouping, RCRA, DOT regulations and transportation options in connection with decisions concerning waste-stream management. Incumbent is required to exercise sound judgment using a high level of subject-matter expertise when making decisions which will have extensive impact on Veolia’s business operations. For example, incumbent is responsible for making recommendations, as required, concerning the use of or contracting with disposal facilities outside the established Veolia guidelines.

Incumbent is responsible for reviewing and assigning state and federal waste codes based on analyzed waste stream characterization, waste analysis, and laboratory reports to competently determine appropriate waste characteristics. Additional responsibilities include determining waste disposition and treatment methodologies and applying correct waste approvals to profiles and waste streams for assigned clients which maximize revenue within the assigned territory and that meet or exceed regulatory requirements.

Further responsibilities include, incumbent’s review, reconciliation against negotiated billable costs, and approval of all assigned vendor invoices within the defined territory, Additional responsibilities, as required, are sourcing, recommending and selecting appropriate transporters and sub-contractors outside the established guidelines—this is generally achieved by distinguishing pricing differences between various facilities and disposal options and determining the most profitable and beneficial disposal option for Veolia while enhancing transportation options for Veolia waste consolidation opportunities, compatibility decisions, and choices.
