Job Summary:
The Technical Services Manager provides direction and leadership to a staff of maintenance engineers, technicians, and maintenance department managers in order to meet objectives related to improving reliability and developing technical team skills while managing costs. This individual is also responsible for guaranteeing continuous improvement and long term viability of plant equipment. After a training period of 12 to 18 months, you would assume the following responsibilities.

Leads the team of 5-10 technical department managers in a 24 hour, 7 day/week manufacturing facility Shares responsibility for meeting plant production, quality, and budget targets Ensures that the plant equipment is in safe operating condition Develops and implements preventive maintenance programs and action plans that optimize the productivity and reliability/ availability of the plant equipment Ensures the continuity of process and product quality by maintaining the necessary contacts with suppliers, customers, and support resources Manages costs and develops departmental annual budgets Provides guidance and coaching in troubleshooting of major issues Establishes and manages the facility technical support priorities Assures development and progression of technical employees Manages the bi-annual major shutdown work

Requirements : BS degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Chemical, Aerospace, or Industrial Engineering (preferred) or equivalent background 5+ years of increasing maintenance or technical management or supervisory responsibility in a heavy manufacturing environment (automotive, chemical, pulp and paper, textile, etc.) or in a military environment Strong problem-solving and decision making skills Ability to successfully manage multiple projects
