Applications are now being accepted for a full-time Technical Specialist. Work includes the installation, repair and maintenance of a wide variety of city-owned electrical, mechanical, and structural equipment and fixtures. Includes performing preventative equipment maintenance and troubleshooting, making necessary repairs, testing completed work, ordering repair parts and maintaining repair records. Responsible for installation and repair of police emergency vehicle equipment, mobile video recording systems, the City's two-way radio communication systems, and various types of telephone equipment. Designs, builds, constructs and fabricates custom equipment.

QUALIFICATIONS: Requires a H.S. diploma or GED, with related college or technical coursework preferred or any equivalent combination of training and experience. Must have knowledge of two-way radio equipment operation, installation and repair. Must possess a valid driver’s license and have a good driving record. Qualified applicants must be able to pass a written and practical test, polygraph, psychological, drug and physical exams; as well as an extensive background investigation and oral interview board. Starting pay is $14.50+ per hour (DOQ).
