General Summary:

Responsible for administering the FMLA/MLOA process within the medical department.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES ( including but not limited to accountabilities below):
  • Generate and issue leave paperwork for MLOA/FMLA and STD
  • Track leaves for all Team Members. Provide reports to Human Resources weekly for purposes of tracking eligibility and leave hours used
  • Track all intermittent leave activity
  • Generate and send notifications to department, Team Relations, Human Resources and Medical when Team Members leave status changes, including the beginning, extensions, and RTW dates
  • Explain the leave process to Team Members
  • Generate and send notifications to Team Members regarding approval/denial of leaves
  • Contact physician’s office for clarification, when needed
  • Answer questions and assist Team Members with problems related to leave of absences
  • Interact with Team Relations and Payroll regarding leave activity
  • Contact Team Members when leaves are not extended or when RTW is expected
  • Assist with key entry for pre-placement exams
  • Assist with filing Workers’ Compensation claims to vendor
  • Assist with scheduling and tracking RTW POET exams
  • Assist with scheduling appointment for medical procedures
  • Maintain medical record confidentiality

QUALIFICATIONS and JOB REQUIREMENTS (Education and Experience):
  • Associate’s degree in medical and health science or a related field, along with two (2) to three (3) years administrative experience, preferably in the automotive industry, or an equivalent combination of education and experience
  • Team oriented and able to multi-task in a fast paced environment
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Excellent organizational and time management skills
  • Ability to work independently to complete assignments
  • Excellent interpersonal, written, and verbal communication skills
