Under the direction of the Clinical Informatics Supervisor, this position will be responsible for applying expert standard and non standard analysis in the support of AltaMed projects, changes and problems that may arise. through providing problem-solving assistance to users regarding the operation of computer hardware, software, and network.. This position will also be responsible for the creation of documentation explaining solutions or procedures as well as beingresponsible for mentoring and training others.
Perform all analysis in the planning, design and installation of new and existing integrations relating to the project.
Provide technical support to IT and AltaMed staff; responding to questions or problems in person or on the telephone.
Evaluate reported system problems and resolve or coordinate resolution with vendor as appropriate.
Monitor open items being worked by vendors/external entities and escalate as appropriate.
Evaluate reported integration issues (lab, ADT, eRx) and escalate to vendors as appropriate.
Provide database support and database maintenance for thr IT functions as well as the organization as a whole.
Monitor application performance, track and trend response times, escalate issues that cannot be resolved.
Monitor application exception logs and take corrective action as appropriate.
Develop system monitoring tools so that issues are detected programmatically without requiring user reporting.
Maintain documentation records of work performed in the work management system (TrackIT).
Follow established change management process for work performed.
Perform all other related duties as assigned.
Skills and Abilities:
Advanced knowledge of SQL, HL7 and Mirth integration engine.
Able to build point-to-point integrations unassisted.
Can negotiate integration specifications with external vendors.
Equipment operation knowledge of a variety of PC-based computers and peripherals, related software applications, and networks.
Analytical techniques to diagnose user problems and offer corrective action.
Project management skills and the ability to resolve complex problems and issues.
Ability to organize, prioritize, and schedule work assignments and produce results in a fast-paced environment.
Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work effectively at all levels in a collaborative team environment.
Advanced phone skills, with experience in multi-media conferencing (telephonic, web-based, etc.).
Excellent customer service skills, with the ability to de-escalate situations as well as empathize with the customer.
Excellent oral and written communication skills with the ability to effectively present to co-workers and customers.
Team building and conflict resolution skills.
A Bachelor’s degree with major course work in computer sciences, business administration, or a closely related field coupled with a minimum of five years’ total experience in any of the following areas: systems programming support , planning and implementing operating system and related program product upgrades or advanced problem solving involving clinical integration, in an Electronic Medical Record environment required.
