Job Description:
The Life Sciences & Technology division of PerkinElmer
is seeking technical support professionals to join our
new center for Personalized Healthand Innovation
(cPHI)-- a community of intelligent, highly-motivated
people dedicated to working together as a team to
improve the human condition through innovation in life
sciences research. The technical support specialist will
become an expert in the use, installation, maintenance,
and repair of automated liquid handling instruments and
will support a variety of individuals within and outside
the organization. The position will require interaction
and communication with customers, field service
engineers, manufacturing engineers, and marketing
professionals through the development and delivery of
technical support documentation, field service
procedures, and service training courses.

Responsibilities:
  • Author and develop service support and training
materials
  • Provide product support (hardware, software, and/or
application) over the telephone and email to both
internal (marketing/manufacturing) and external
(Field service/field service specialist/end user)
customers based on a variety of assigned products
(50% minimum phone support required
  • Provide product status and follow-up technical
information to the field via Service Data Bulletins
and other written/electronic media
  • Conduct training for field service on hardware,
software, and application support on specific
product lines
  • Act as a liaison between engineering, manufacturing
and field service to interject field requirements
into the product development process and to resolve
outstanding field issues in a timely manner
  • Provide feedback information on product quality and
integrity including customer satisfaction to
internal departments
  • Perform other related functions as assigned
Job Requirements:
  • Bachelor degree or equivalent experience required
  • 4-6 years of experience in a technical support or
instrument service in a commercial or analytical
laboratory environment
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and team orientation
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Demonstrated ability to succeed in a fast-paced
environment, working on multiple projects with
constantly changing priorities and deadlines
