This position is will work with an already established IT team to support, maintain, and resolve technical problems. This individual will participle in the planning, implementation of systems, policies and procedures to ensure system and network provisioning is consistent with company goals, and industry best practices. This position is responsible for supporting network related technical issues involving internal network support, Microsoft core business applications, as well as resolving system problems and desktop systems with minimal disruption to users. Maintain a productive IT environment for assigned user community.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITY
Assists the lead technical advisor for the enterprise’s Information Technology Network resources.
Support Microsoft related Technologies related to: Windows Server, Exchange, and internal applications
Installation, administration, and maintenance of network servers, switches, and firewalls
Manage and maintain corporate Active Directory, DNS, Citrix, VPN, SAN, and VMware environments
Perform software installations, upgrades internal core systems
Maintain and Support backup software and systems
Assists with the maintenance of telecommunications systems including cell phones, voice, fax and data for all locations
Provide second-tier desktop application support
Recommend, schedule and perform software and hardware improvements, upgrades, patches, and or reconfigurations
Assist, plan and maintain the disaster recovery efforts of the company as a whole
QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily and have a working knowledge of the following tools:
Complete understanding of LAN / WAN technologies
Working knowledge of TCP/IP networking (layer 2/3) and Cisco firewalls
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES includes the following. Other duties may be assigned.
Maintain critical business applications with limited down-time.
Install and test hardware and software updates and enhancements.
Create appropriate network and communications systems documentation.
Participate and assist in major technology projects.
Maintain telecommunications systems including voice, fax and data.
Limited Travel required: less than 10%
Investigate, troubleshoot, and resolve all problems in a timely manner, while keeping the customer appraised of the status.
Work independently on escalated issues.

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE
Bachelor’s degree preferred in MIS or a related field required and 3 years related experience and/or training required; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
3 or more years experience as a Windows 2003/2008 Systems Administrator
3 or more years experience with MS Exchange
3 or more years experience supporting Windows desktop environments
An understanding of VMware
CCNA and MCSE a plus
Experience installing, troubleshooting and maintaining a wide variety of computer applications.
Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals. Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before groups of customers or employees of organization.
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume. Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry.
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form. Ability to be at work on a regular and predictable basis.
