microDATA, a 9-1-1 software solutions company is seeking a highly motivated Technical Trainer II. A Technical Trainer II is responsible for delivering product training to clients. A Technical Trainer II also assists with managing on-going partner relationships for training programs to solicit feedback and learning requirements. This position involves a variety of roles including curriculum development, web-based customer training and other departmental responsibilities. Experience with software training preferred. Experience with Public Safety software and protocol is ideal. Experience in an entrepreneurial environment is a plus.
JOB QUALIFICATIONS:
Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent work experience
3+ years of training experience is required
Experience in applying formal instruction design and curriculum development methodologies in the workplace (i.e. ADDIE, Training Plans, Best Practices) is desired
Previous experience in the production of eLearning programs to support blended learning solutions is a plus
Prior Public Safety exposure is highly desired
Excellent interpersonal, written and verbal, presentation and public speaking skills as well as the ability to work well with others in a team environment is required
Strong computer skills including detailed knowledge of MS Office and MS Windows is a must
The ability to work well under pressure, prioritize workloads and work under time constraints is mandatory
Superior organizational skills and ability to handle multiple tasks simultaneously in a fast-paced environment is required
Ability to take initiative and work without supervision
Frequent trave l is required
Must be able to lift 50 pounds
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
Provide training to clients, personnel and business partners on topics including software installation and configuration, end user, train-the-trainer and support functions
Ability to deliver Training in several formats including instructor led, conference calls and web-based programs
Design, develop and produce learning materials for customers and clients
Ensure content is developed consistently with formal instructional design methodology and adheres to key learning strategies for the target audience
Create and maintain various printed training materials including manuals, Quick Reference Guides and Training Bulletins
Conduct workflow analysis to determine a customer’s specific training needs
Work with technical experts to assist in development of course materials for product training
Translate technical language and ideas in a given area into learning experiences for both technical and non-technical students
Interface with other departments including Project Management, Technical Services and Quality Assurance to keep abreast of new developments
Customize customer training based on workflow analysis
Manage post installation customer relationships for training needs while collaborating with Project Management
Perform other duties as assigned
