Schneider Electric Smart Infrastructure currently has an outstanding opportunity for a motivated individual to assume the role of Technical Trainer in our Houston, TX location. As part of our Competency Center Educational Services team, the incumbent in this position will focus on delivering high quality, comprehensive customer and employee technical training in Calgary, Houston, and at customer sites worldwide.

The candidate should possess technical skills in the areas of IT and networks, and application programming (preferably in a .NET environment), and have a strong aptitude for teaching technical concepts.

The position also assists in the development of new courseware, new training products and services, and training-related marketing and sales support materials. Responsibilities (In addition to the above description):

-Delivers technical training in Houston, Calgary, and at customer sites worldwide
-Promotes positive customer relations on an ongoing basis, in all aspects of client interaction
-Promotes the courses and services that the Educational Services Department offers to Internal and External clients
-Maintains and updates all pertinent training course materials associated with current and new product releases
-Assists with the installation and maintenance of several computer classrooms, including: purchasing, installing, and configuring hardware and software; configuring computer networks and Active Directory; troubleshooting hardware, software, and networks; establishing imaging and VM solutions
-Maintains an up-to-date understanding and implementation of Educational Services processes and procedures, and contributes to the regular updating and enhancement of these processes
-Monitors training program costs and maintains target contributions to companys profit and overhead
-Maintains technical expertise with all assigned company products
-Liaises regularly with the R&D Department in order to ensure accuracy of training materials
-Additional tasks, as required by the Educational Services Manager



-Familiarity with the technical training process
-Experience with word processing, spreadsheets, and presentation software
-Experience in presentation and/or training course material creation and delivery
-Experience with Windows (client and server) operating systems in a networked environment
-Experience with hardware and software installation and troubleshooting
-Experience with application programming in a .NET environment, and working knowledge of SQL
-Experience with VMs and imaging solutions
-Familiarity with UNIX, SCADA software, and with the Gas, Liquids and/or Electrical Utilities industries are considered assets

-A Bachelors Degree in one of the Sciences, or Business, Communications, or Education, with 3+ years related post-secondary experience or experience in a training environment, or
-A Technology Diploma with at least 5+ years of related post-secondary experience, or experience in a training environment
