Technical Writers perform a variety of functions essential to the Real Estate Division of the Finance Department. Responsibilities include: writing complex legal descriptions, reviewing complex legal descriptions provided by third parties, and generating transactional instruments (deeds, easements, etc.) for escrowed and non-escrowed real property transactions. Technical Writers also review all dedications and abandonments processed by the Planning and Development Department.

SALARY
$46,758 - $69,950 annually.
JOB
REQUIREMENTS
Five years experience writing, reviewing and/or interpreting legal descriptions, including but not limited to metes and bounds, lot and block, and sectional forms.
Experience composing and reviewing conveyance instruments.
Experience plotting legal descriptions on maps and aerial plats; knowledge of AutoCAD and ArcView/ArcGIS
Ability to understand and interpret title reports.
An equivalent combination of related experience and education may be considered.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
– The job requirements listed above, plus:
Three or more years land survey experience.
Experience working with infrastructure design plans
