Position Summary: Controls and maintains all company manuals in accordance with Company policies and Federal Aviation Administration regulations.

Areas of Accountability/Essential Functions:
  • Works directly with departmental Subject Matter Experts (SME’s) to write and revise content for controlled technical publications dealing with specific areas of expertise such as flight operations, maintenance and quality control, station operations, in-flight services, or corporate operations
  • Makes recommendations on organization of Manual content
  • Produces work in an efficient and effective manner while maintaining high levels of document quality
  • Ensures interface with other departments is completed to determine if changes are acceptable to all departments
  • Ensures all new projects comply with the System Safety Attributes of the Air Transportation Oversight System.
  • Adheres to production schedule as delegated by the Director of Technical Publications
  • Interacts directly with the FAA and follows corporate policies to respond in a timely manner with regulatory concerns
  • Assists the Director of Technical Publication with project changes and evaluates the effects of change on deadlines and deliverables
  • Follow Technical Publications Procedures
  • Other duties as assigned

  • Ability to communicate professionally in both oral and written formats
  • Ability to work well in a team or individually
  • Proficient in use of standard office equipment
  • Computer proficiency; including Adobe FrameMaker, Adobe Acrobat MS Word, Excel, Outlook, and other Technical Publications programs

  • High School diploma or equivalent
  • Two or more years of aviation experience preferred
  • Bachelor’s degree in journalism, technical communications, or equivalent experience
  • Two to five years experience writing technical documents
  • Working knowledge of Federal Aviation Regulations

Working Conditions/Physical Requirements:
  • Frequent sitting, writing, typing, filing, use of standard office equipment
  • Occasional standing, reaching, climbing stairs, kneeling/crouching, lifting up to 25lbs without assistance
  • Office environment; quiet to moderate noise level

Other Requirements:
  • Legally Authorized to work in the United States
  • Occasional travel required
  • Previous auditing experience preferred
  • At least 18 years of age
