Position Summary:

Support the technical development and maintenance of all internet-related aspects of the and Christian University GlobalNet websites including the integrated Learning Management System, graphics, and social media.

Essential Functions:

Serve as assistant to the CC.COM/CUGN Global Integration Specialist, including ongoing development of the sites.

Assist CUGN’s Admissions Coordinator in document creation, mailings, and managing workflows.

Provide technical support to CUGN’s social media programs

Develop and maintain high proficiency in the Moodle Learning Management System (LMS).

Assist in ensuring that all web-related issues receive immediate attention.

Respond in a professional and timely manner to technical and other support requests from students.

Assist in overseeing the work of outsource programmers working for CC or CUGN.

Assist in working with the media-hosting provider and learn to manage the files and data on their server.

Assist with technical and developmental aspects of the student management system (presently ABHE-Solutions), including keying in information as requested.

Assist with the development and distribution of the e-newsletters and/or blogs for CC and CUGN.

Interface, as assigned, with RBC staff as well as outside contractors related to course structure and internet presentation.

Develop written documentation of practices and procedures related to job responsibilities.

Ensure back-up capabilities for Global Integration Specialist when such back-up is needed.

Review statistics and monthly performance reports related to websites and email lists and provide summary reports.

Assist in ensuring the backup and security of all course, website, and internet content.

Review all new releases of courses and Moodle applications including testing performance.

Assist in the construction and release of new courses and/or new versions of courses on schedule and within budget.

Perform basic programming required for the sites and provide counsel when outside assistance is required on large and technical projects.

Keep accurate records of activity related to these tasks.

Assess consistently the status of CUGN and CC websites and courses including navigation, links, and operation.

Assume other duties normally associated with the role of web specialist and technical support for online education programs.

Study or Knowledge or Experience:
  • Degree in education or computer science preferred, not required.
  • Technical aptitude and desire to adapt to new technologies
  • Bible courses or equivalent training to provide familiarity with theological terms and general Bible knowledge
  • Proficiency with content management software, e-commerce, and associated tools
  • Training in HTML, PHP, MySQL, CSS, JavaScript and other Web languages and services required; two years’ experience preferred
  • Experience in Learning Management Systems, Moodle preferred
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word/EXCEL)
  • Ability to coordinate multiple tasks
  • Exhibition of personal characteristics including professionalism, discretion, accuracy, flexibility and tact.
