Work involves installation, maintenance and repair of water meters, lines and equipment. This position performs meter readings and operates water and sewer service equipment.

Qualifications and Requirements:

MINIMUM REQUIREMENTS
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • One year of experience in the operation, maintenance and repair of potable water facilities.
  • Valid drivers license.
PREFERRED REQUIREMENTS
  • Water Certification by the Alabama Department of Environmental Management.
  • Commercial Drivers License (CDL) Class A or B.
  • Continued employment may be contingent upon employee obtaining a CDL License within six months of employment.

Physical Demands & Work Environment:

WORKING CONDITIONS
Work is primarily performed out of doors and is subject to extremes in weather conditions, wet surroundings, humidity and odors.

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS
Work is medium to heavy in nature and consists of walking, bending, lifting, shoveling, carrying and driving.

WRITTEN/ORAL/ PERFORMANCE EXAMINATIONS
No written or performance examination will be required for this position.
