Advertised Summary Job Description

The Department of Neurology at Columbia University Medical Center is looking for a Technician B. The incumbent will primarily work in the laboratory and assist with maintaining the lab's colony of experimental mice. The Technician B will perform mouse and molecular genetic experiments, and participate in general research support, including: preparing solutions, setting up and calibrating equipment and carrying out fully planned experiments with supervision, collecting samples and keeping records of results. S/he will also perform other duties necessary to the functioning of the laboratory, such as ordering and maintaining laboratory supplies, and assisting with chemicals and equipment maintenance, research reagents and other related duties as required.

Requires a bachelor's degree in chemistry, biology, physics or related science or equivalent combination of education, training and experience.
