The Quality Control Technician inspects and reports on manufacturing quality. The incumbent will perform the inspection of incoming materials, mechanical, electrical components, and work-in-process materials using complex inspection gauging such as caliper, micrometer, and height gauge and may use coordinate measuring machines. Must have the ability to read / interpret engineering drawings. Must have an understanding of basic Geometric Dimensioning & Tolerancing systems. Requires performing first article inspections on a wide variety of parts and may involve castings, and molds. Initiates rejection reports for non-conforming materials and ensure proper completion of required documentation in accordance with departmental, GMP, and ISO requirements. Requires interface with Technical Operations, Quality Assurance, Production, Procurement, Development personnel and may include suppliers solving quality issues, troubleshooting parts, and recommending courses of action.


QUALIFICATIONS: High school diploma or equivalent. Must have experience as a QC inspector. Must have strong working knowledge of various inspection requirements and measurement techniques. Must be able to obtain measurements with inspection gauging tools such as caliper, height gauge and micrometer. Must have strong verbal and written communication skills and be capable of producing detailed and comprehensive inspection documentation and reports. Must have proficiency using Microsoft Word and Excel. ASQ Quality Certification and familiarity with operating Coordinate Measuring Machine (CMM) and Vision Inspection Systems is a plus.
