This position is located at the West Bethesda site of the Signature Measurement and Processing Branch (Code 733) of the Signature Measurement Technologies and Systems Development Division (Code 73) of the Signatures Department (Code 70) at Carderock Division, Naval Surface Warfare Center, West Bethesda, MD. The selectee must be eligible for a secret security clearance. This person will support Code 7333 as an onboard technician during the various projects, tests, and operations associated with the U.S. Navys programs in undersea acoustic and vibration silencing.

Responsible for operations and maintenance of onboard submarine data acquisition systems
Perform installing, grooming, and maintaining submarine acoustic/sonar data acquisition systems
Conduct full scale submarine acoustic sea trials
Responsible for carrying out acoustic analysis and data quality assurance

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have one or more years of progressively related experience. Specialized experience is experience i nstalling and maintaining submarine acoustic/sonar data acquisition systems along with experience performing submarine acoustic sea trials.

- Selectee is required to participate in the Department of Defense direct deposit of pay program.

- Must be physically qualified for submarine cruises in local waters for short periods of time (up to 14 days).
