This position is that of an Electronic Technician located in the Maritime Electronic Warfare Systems Division Systems Development Branch.

THIS IS AN EXPEDITED HIRING AUTHORITY ANNOUCMENT. The Duncan Hunter National Defense Authorization Act (NDAA) FY 2010, provides that the Secretary of Defense may designate any category of acquisition positions within the Department of Defense as positions for which there exists a shortage of candidates or there is a critical hiring need and utilize the authorities in sections 3304,5333 and 5753 of title 5, United States Code, to recruit and appoint qualified persons directly to positions so designated.

KEY REQUIREMENTS

You must be a US Citizen.

Must be registered for Selective Service, see Legal & Regulatory Guidance.

Suitable for Federal employment as determined by background investigation.

Selectee may be required to successfully complete a probationary period.

You must obtain and maintain a security clearance.

DUTIES:
Serve as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) for establishing the technical requirements and documentation related to the sustainment and supportability of AN/SLQ-32(V)6 system.

Responsible for developing contract requirements to ensure Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs) provide the necessary documentation and data to enable the supportability of the system during its lifetime.

Responsible for the development of acquisition and supportability plans to provide for a smooth transition to in-service support.

Lead the efforts associated with performing supportability analysis, functional and physical audits of the system, contract deliverable reviews, fault tree analysis, failure modes and effects analysis, test readiness reviews, system verification reviews, and technical data reviews.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

SPECIALIZED EXPERIENCE: Applicants must have one or more years of progressively related experience. Examples of this experience include:

  • Developing system supportability objectives for acquisition documentation and contract data requirements; e xperience conducting configuration audits and failure analyses during lifecycle test events; provide recommendations on improving policies and plans for business processes system program events and milestones.
DEFENSE ACQUISITION WORKFORCE IMPROVEMENT ACT (DAWIA) REQUIREMENT:

This position is covered under the Defense Acquisition Workforce Improvement Act (DAWIA) and requires additional education, training and experience. Applicants should meet the DAWIA Certification requirements for the Systems Production Quality Management (PQM) career field and be certified at Level III at the time of application. If you possess DAWIA Certification, please indicate your Certification Level and Career Field information in your resume.

Experience in developing and conducting a supportability analysis process that reduces the Mean Time Between Failures for electronic equipment

REQUIREMENTS:
Selectee is required to participate in the Department of Defense direct deposit of pay program.

Travel is required but will not exceed 25% of the time.

HOW YOU WILL BE EVALUATED:
The evaluation method for the Engineer is a multiple hurdle process . Initially, applicants will be evaluated/assessed based on the minimum qualifications for the position. Applicants who meet the minimum qualifications a second review may be needed. The second review of your resume and supporting documentation will be made and compared against your responses to the occupational questionnaire. The rating you receive is based on the degree to which your background matches the knowledge, skills and abilities required to perform the duties of this position.
