The UTC Aerospace Systems business in our Brea location seeks a Technician for our Sensors and Integrated Systems business. Functions include but not limited to stock, assembly, inspection, and electrical & mechanical testing.
The initial job assignments will be in Inspection and will include the following responsibilities:
(a2 Sets up and performs mechanical/electromechanical/electronic inspection of detailed and completed precision assemblies to determine precise conformance to specifications, tolerances and workmanship standards.
(a2 May be required to determine methods of inspection to be used, make complex electro-mechanical test set-ups and perform first-article inspection and receiving test of electronic products.
(a2 Inspection of electrical circuit board assemblies for workmanship and soldering
(a2 Inspection of electrical components and sub-assemblies.
(a2 Complete receiving inspection on incoming parts and final inspection of sub-assemblies and final assemble products.
(a2 Assist final inspection of sub-assemblies and final assemble products.
(a2 Inputs into the Company's computer system.
(a2 Coordinate source inspection activities and familiar with customer portal system as required.
(a2 R & O hidden damage inspection. In-process inspection for hidden damage.
High School diploma
Associate degree preferred.
Candidates must have 2 years recent experience in electronic and electrical circuit board inspection preferably in the Aerospace or Medical Device environments. Must have experience with microscopes, magnifying mirrors, micrometers, calipers and other related inspection tools.
Minimum Requirements for all technician assignments are:
(a2 Must be FAA Drug and Alcohol tested and placed in random pool under the FAA Drug and Alcohol Program because of safety-sensitive position.
(a2 Computer skills, Microsoft Word, Excel (a6 and knowledge of MRP systems
(a2 Read and understand blueprints and schematics.
(a2 Ability to read, write, and speak English fluently giving an individual the ability to follow detailed written and verbal instructions ie, assembly instructions, test procedures, and CMM's.
(a2 Manipulative skills of a high level using a variety of hand tools and measuring instruments.
(a2 Must have prior work experience with a full understanding of Quality Systems such as AS9100/ISO 9001 with the ability to read and understand procedures and work instructions.
Minimum requirements for the initial job assignment are as follows:
(a2 Minimum 2 years of Quality Control Inspection or directly related experience.
(a2 Experience inspecting circuit board assemblies, soldering and electrical sub-assemblies.
(a2 Previous soldering certification to J-STD as technician or inspector highly desired
(a2 Experience inspecting electrical components to IPC-610 Standard
(a2 Inspection of electronic assembly and electro-mechanical systems
(a2 Inspection of assembly of hydraulic systems.
(a2 Must be proficient in the use of such precision measuring instruments such as micrometers, calipers, depth gages, gage blocks, sine bars and comparators and CMM
(a2 Past experience with FAA is desired.
(a2 Reading, interpreting and implementing Service Bulletins.
(a2 Reading, interpreting and working to the requirements of CMM's/assembly instructions, engineering drawings, schematics and other engineering documentation.
(a2 Monday-Friday 1st Shift 6:00am - 2:30pm This position is for the first shift
