The UTC Aerospace Systems business in Brea, California seeks a Technician in our Operations department. Functions include but not limited to stock, assembly, inspection, and electrical & mechanical testing.
The initial job assignments will be in Mechanical Assembly and Repair and Overhaul and will include the following responsibilities:
(a2 Performing mechanical assembly work, which is typically of high complexity and/or requires fitting, alignment and adjustment of components, units and assemblies to very close tolerances.
(a2 Utilization of manipulative skills of a high level using a variety of hand tools and measuring instruments with a sufficient understanding of the functional operation of the products assembled to make minor modifications and parts substitutions in the assembly process.
(a2 Involves a wide variety of operations with a long work cycle.
(a2 Perform trouble-shooting and rework of production or return goods products.
(a2 Perform work from complex and detailed assembly blueprints and/or verbal and written instructions with a minimum of supervision, using considerable judgment in planning work sequence.
A minimum of a high school diploma or equivalent
Minimum Requirements are:
(a2 Ability to read and understand blueprints and schematics.
(a2 Have an ability to read, write, and comprehend detailed written and verbal instructions ie, assembly instructions, test procedures, CMM's, engineering drawings, schematics and other engineering documentation.
(a2 Have manipulative skills of a high level using a variety of hand tools and measuring instruments.
(a2 Prior work experience with a Quality Systems such as AS9100 with the ability to read and understand procedures and work instructions is a plus.
(a2 1 year directly related experience in any of the following:
(a2 Computer literate. Experience with MRP systems such as SAP is a plus.
- Assembly and sub assembly of mechanical systems (gearboxes, etc.).
- Assembly and sub assembly of hydraulic systems.
- Familiarity with A/C & D/C brushed & brushless motors.
(a2 Ability to lift a minimum of 25lbs.
Position is on second shift 2:30pm - 11:00pm
