Currently, we are seeking qualified candidates for a Technician position opening to join our Advanced Development organization in Benton Harbor/St. Joseph, MI.
The Technician position is responsible for supporting a team of engineers in advanced development of technology solutions in airflow, fluid, thermal, and mechanical systems on Whirlpool Appliances. Specific focus is on testing appliance prototypes, developing test beds and data acquisition systems, execution of experimental test plans, and general troubleshooting.
What You Will Do
Assemble mechanical prototypes and test beds
Assemble, wire, and debug data acquisition systems, sensors, and instrumentation.
Execute experimental test plans, perform basic data analysis, and document results.
Maintain lab environment, instrumentation, and equipment.
Team with engineers to successfully deliver technical design projects.
What You Need To Succeed
Associates degree (preferred) or significant applicable experience.
Experience: 1-5 Years.
Positive attitude and ability to complete simultaneous projects with multiple team members.
Demonstrated troubleshooting and problem solving skills both electrical and mechanical.
Experience with data collection, data analysis, and documentation.
Experience with data acquisition systems, sensors and instrumentation.
Working knowledge of Six Sigma practices, design of experiments (DOE) is a plus.
Basic Labview software skills is considered a plus.
Experience with MS Office required.
Excellent written and verbal communications skills.
