Currently, we are seeking qualified candidates for a Lab Technician opening to join our Food Preparation organization.

What You Will Do

Prepare and conduct testing on food preparation product through specified test procedures. The testing involves gathering the necessary tools and equipment, measuring and recording test parameters and data, making visual observations of the test product and documentation of the testing in lab notebooks and reports. You will also participate in the development of new tests and testing methods as required for new projects.

You will participate with other technicians and engineers in a team environment to execute the test plans for new component and food preparation designs. This includes preparing for the various tests, updating and maintaining test stands and organizing the laboratory equipment and tools. You will offer suggestions to engineers based on your testing observations for opportunities to improve the efficiency and value of the test program. You will also provide feedback on testing progress to engineers and project leaders.

In this role, you will actively support multiple active projects simultaneously, managing your time and laboratory resources. You will participate in and lead the use of Lean and 5S methodologies throughout the laboratory to maintain and continuously improve the organization and efficiency of the lab space. What You Need To Succeed

Electronic / Electrical Technology or Electrical Engineering Technology degree is preferred.
Experience working with data acquisition systems like Lab Tech Notebook or similar systems. Knowledgeable across various systems a plus.
Experience with various means to automate tests employing electrical, mechanical, electromechanical, air driven and hydraulic equipment.
Experience working with electronics / electronic controls.
Experience working with agency requirements understanding the need for a well detail oriented skill set and ability to effectively document test results, data and observations made during testing.
Well experienced in analyzing failures observed during testing. Troubleshooting skills, identifying root cause(s), understand physics of failure behind the event and capable of providing recommendations for improvements to the device under test.
Experience with standard computer programs (Microsoft Excel, Word, Project and PowerPoint)
Communication skills to provide effective, thorough and regular updates on testing progress to Engineers and project leaders.
Must have proven abilities to observe and record necessary details of anomalies observed during testing covering both those items being tested for and those not directly being checked during ongoing tests.
Ability to understand and analyze data to draw conclusions and make recommendations for next steps and improvements in both the design and test methods.
Must be a team player and skilled at working with various personality types to maintain focus and drive to completion of tasks.
Experience in 5S and LEAN methodologies and organizing and maintaining an efficient laboratory work space.
Flexible in adjusting to shifting project priorities and working with multiple engineers.
Experience or desire to work in a packaging lab is a plus.
