Technology Business Analyst

Serve as liaisons between end-users and consultants during the initial phase of IT and technology consulting projects. Define product requirements. Define specifications and data models for product development and testing. Use development specifications to create detailed test cases and analyze results. Assess available technologies and recommend solutions to consulting team. May play a key role in the training of internal installers and dealers and technical support personnel. Gather information from end users to document functional, system, and data requirements, including responses to feature and functionality questions, internally and externally. Provide pre-sales support including customer presentations, meetings, high level design reviews. Provide 3rd tier level technical support to recommend solutions to customer needs. Serve as focal point for relationship between customers and development including status updates throughout the development cycle. Create detailed technical specifications and data models for development of new products or modifications to existing products (release notes, newsletters, online help, etc.). Stay abreast of Retail industry issues and requirements. Manages the release process of product preparation, organization, and implementation of beta installation, and conduct 1st/2nd line support during the beta process. Assess available technologies and recommend solutions to development team. Train internal resources, and end users, explaining the application and background information. Evaluate the effectiveness of implemented technologies. Travel may be required. Due to the nature of this position, employee may be subject to extensive background checks (including fingerprinting) by MICROS customers and/or vendors as a condition to conduct business on their premises. Other duties may be assigned.
Bachelors degree in, hospitality management, technology, or an equivalent combination of education, training and relevant experience, and a minimum of 2 years related experience in business process consulting Strong computer/systems background: PC platforms, Windows Operating Systems, SQL, Oracle RDBMS, Java, WEBserver XML. Technical certification is a plus. Related applications knowledge for retail product. Excellent communication, presentation, and project management skills. MICROS product knowledge a plus. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly required to sit and/or stand and may occasionally lift and/or move up to 10 pounds.
