Orrick, Herrington and Sutcliffe LLP is an International Law Firm with a global operations center in Wheeling WV, which is approximately 60 miles SW of downtown Pittsburgh along I-79 / I-70 or approximately 45 minute commute from Robinson Township via Rt 22.

Orrick currently has an excellent opportunity for a Technology Infrastructure Manager in the Global Operations Center (GOC) in Wheeling, WV .

The Technology Infrastructure Manager manages all global communications, technology and security infrastructure services for the Firm and provides technical and project oversight on key, related initiatives. This role offers an excellent opportunity for a proven technology leader to make a significant impact on the operations and performance of the global organization. Communications services include the Firm’s wide area network, VoIP, video conferencing and remote access capabilities. Technology infrastructure services incorporate primary and secondary data centers in three global regions, the Firm’s server and storage infrastructure, all associated operating and management software, data base archiving and recovery activities.

The Technology Infrastructure Manager is also responsible for the following:

  • Managing, developing and mentoring a team of network, systems, communications and security architects and engineers
  • Identifying and assessing emerging technologies and designing and managing the Firm’s systems architecture
  • Maintaining security for the Firm’s technology assets and applications
  • Delivering day to day IT infrastructure and security support services to all global offices and functional organizations including Finance, Litigation Services, Document Review, Knowledge Management, Records Management and Human Resources
  • Directing infrastructure-related purchasing activities for the Firm
Must possess a solid understanding of and experience with Operating Systems, including:

Installation and configuration of the Operating Systems.

Installation and configuration of related services.

Proper usage of native server optimization and performance monitoring and troubleshooting tools.

Installation of software updates.

Must possess a thorough understanding of computer networks and how they operate, including:

Standard network design principles, components and protocols.

Backup operation, importance, and disaster recovery procedures.

Fault tolerant and redundant drive implementations.

Must have experience establishing and managing data centers owned and operated by third-party providers.

Professional certification in Operating System or Network System environments preferred.

Experience in the following technical environments is required:

Cisco networking, VoIP and UCS

EMC and NetApp storage

Dell servers


Microsoft Exchange
