A manager responsible for a small team of individuals that have a detailed set of functions related to documentation and organization or the processes which encompass bringing in new equipment that is used in the network. This individual will have organizational oversight of Frontier evaluation labs and the coordination of activities within them. The direct team assists in implementing the equipment evaluation process used by other members of the Technology & Planning organizations. This includes maintaining the online tools that house documentation of what has been testing in the labs and approved from First Office Applications in the field. This manager has oversight of the tracking mechanism for requests to research and test new configurations in the lab. Research involves Total Cost of Ownership analysis that is done to determine if there is value in testing these equipment alternatives. If this this review results in lab testing, then coordination is done with employees & vendors on equipment needs and lab set up requirements. This manager also facilitates the discussions to ensure that testing resources are assigned. This role also requires key partnering with Procurement on validating network devices that are approved for being added to ordering system (Infinium) and driving to narrow the vendors we source from without going below two sources.
