OVERVIEW OF RESPONSIBILITIES:|
The Technology Technician is responsible for supporting and maintaining the hardware and software of Rosewood Hotels and Resorts’ computing environment. Will work with the Technology Services Manager to provide desktop support to the corporate office and regional sales offices, as well as administer technology standards and end-user policies and procedures for the help desk. Will carry out central administrative activities in accordance with standard operating procedures as set forth by the Technology Services Manager.
Reports to the Technology Services Manager
Working hours : The Technology Technician is expected to be able to be on duty during normally accepted working hours and whenever his/her presence is required. The Technology Technician adapts his/her working hours to the corporate offices’ operating hours.
Language: The Technology Technician is required to speak English.
Education/Experience: The minimum education is a 4 year Computer Science or Business Accounting degree. In lieu of formal education, at least 1-2 years of experience in desktop support is required.
Conduct: Must be able to work safely, effectively and efficiently.
Abilities: Organizational skills are required to maintain records.
Uniforms: Rosewood Hotels and Resorts observes a business attire dress code.
TECHNICAL CORE COMPETENCIES :
Ensures that all policies and procedures in the operation are followed.
Maintains standard operating procedures.
Coordinates technical guidance to users in accordance with the needs of the business process.
Assists in the development of business process modifications and updates including design and implementation.
Provides desktop support and level one trouble shooting for the help desk.
Administers and maintains the use of all cell phones and LAN IP phones throughout the organization.
Works with the Technology Services Manager to monitor and control the relationships between the corporate office and technology vendors for maintenance contracts and purchase of supplies.
Reviews requests for new hardware and software with the Technology Services Manager
Keeps work environment clean and proper at all times.
Ensures confidentiality in all matters related to his/her activity.
Carries out other duties that are delegated to him/her by the Technology Services Manager or any executive of Rosewood Hotels and Resorts.
REQUIRED TECHNICAL SKILL:
General knowledge of all Microsoft Windows 2000, 2003, 2008 server environments & & & lt;
General knowledge of Apple OS X
General knowledge of all standard domain controller rolls and protocols such as DHCP, DNS, WINS, File and Print Sharing
General knowledge of all standard networking protocols such as TCP/IP
General knowledge of Exchange/Lotus
Administrator Level knowledge of the following Microsoft Office software: Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, Visio, Access
Administrator Level knowledge of Blackberry, Android and Apple iOS
Understanding of database concepts including report writing
Excellent problem solving skills
PREFERRED TECHNICAL SKILLS:
Ability to manage communication systems such as Instant Messaging technology, all smartphone platforms and iPad
Knowledge of network security systems such as hardware and software Firewalls, AntiVirus software, AntiSpyware software, Windows Update Server and e-mail SPAM filtering technology.
Knowledge of all Active Directory functionality.
Knowledge of the maintenance of SQL Server databases.
Experience with the effective use of remote management software such as PCAnywhere, Funk Proxy, LogMeIn, Terminal Services, Remote Desktop, etc.
Knowledge regarding data backup and recovery software and tools such as ArcServe or Veritas and tape drive autoloaders, NAS devices, etc.
Experience with Lotus Notes and Domino.
Microsoft SQL Report Writing, Oracle EPM Financial Reporting studio
Knowledge of cabling specifications
