  • The Oshman Family Jewish Community Center (OFJCC) on the Taube Koret Campus for Jewish Life serves the South Peninsula through educational, social, cultural, fitness, sports and other wellness programs. About BBYO:
  • B'nai Brith Youth Organization (BBYO) has built a powerful platform of teens, alumni, professionals, volunteers and philanthropists who deliver a wide menu of fun, meaningful and affordable experiences to the post bar/bat mitzvah teen audience with the expectation that they will find a lasting connection to the Jewish people.


The Teen Program Manager will serve primarily as a BBYO Program Associate, overseeing the programming of local chapters. Additionally, this individual will develop and maintain the OFJCC Teen Program as a resource for leadership training, volunteer opportunities, and community-wide teen events.

BBYO Program Associate responsibilities:
  • Support and maintain programs that engage teens socially, culturally, communally and intellectually and reflect the diversity of Jewish life, including: Israel, community service , education and Shabbat
  • Plan and execute monthly events for BBYO Connect (BBYO's middle school program) in the South Bay including marketing/outreach, programming, staffing and budget
  • Support and inspire teens by maintaining leadership development opportunities and serve as a Jewish role model/experiential educator
  • Maintain, manage and seek out new opportunities for collaborative partnerships with Jewish and secular community organizations (e.g., secular high schools and local congregations)
  • Attend and supervise local and regional programming, as scheduled
  • Serve as a member of the BBYO Bay Area staff team by undertaking some region-wide responsibility and program planning/execution
  • Enhance BBYO's community visibility and teen involvement through targeted marketing (including on-line) and stellar programming
  • Serve as leadership staff/facilitator at designated BBYO summer program(s), including CLTC/ILTC (skills development)
  • Support, supervise, maintain and develop a core volunteer base of chapter advisors

OFJCC Teen Program responsibilities:
  • Develop Teen Program to act as a leading resource for community service opportunities
  • Coordinate the participation of teens in center-wide events
  • Plan and implement several JCC teen programs
  • Coordinate the agency's involvement in community events for teens
  • Ensure effective administrative systems are in place to support departmental programs, including mechanisms for tracking participation and demographics; providing reports to Program Director as requested
  • Other related duties as required or directed

  • Previous experience working with Jewish youth, preferably in a JCC setting
  • Strong background in Jewish programming or Jewish education
  • Previous experience in program development
  • Bachelor's degree or equivalent experience
  • Strong leadership and facilitation skills
  • Ability to transmit Jewish culture and ideas to youth from diverse Jewish backgrounds
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
  • Ability to work cooperatively and effectively with a broad spectrum of staff, volunteers, and program participants
  • Ability to work with other community teen leaders to collaborate on programs
  • Competency with current social networking technologies
  • A strong knowledge of what is current and popular in teen culture
  • Knowledge of Bay Area Jewish community and BBYO structure and systems a plus
  • Knowledge of Hebrew a plus

Work Schedule:
  • This is a full time position that will require some evening and weekend work.
