Title Telecommunications Technician Summary CRI Advantage is looking to hire a Telecommunications Technician to provide telecommunications and administrative duties to a federal agency’s IT users This role requires a person with experience in a variety of digital and VoIP phone systems as well as experience with mobile devices (smart phones and tablets) and their vendors Duration 1 year with option for extension Location Golden CO Job duties and responsibilities of the position Operates switchboard equipment in order to answer incoming calls determines intent of caller and makes appropriate connection Receives and routes a variety of calls for general information including complaints emergencies and security calls Assists in maintaining and updating telephone directories via computerized database when notified of changes in order to access correct information Places long distance and conference calls for workers Assists in reporting telephone equipment or service complaints and problems Operates and maintains telephone system which disseminates informational messages to callers and determines what information caller requires Configures VoIP accounts and phones for new users and process moves Assists with review of billing from communications companies and entering customer charges as necessary Process service requests and incidents generated by centralized IT service desk Required Knowledge Skills and Attributes Knowledge of centralized telephone systems Familiarity with Cisco andor Avaya digital and VoIP call management systems a plus Skill in the operation of telephone equipment Skill in dealing diplomatically with the public under stressful conditions Knowledge of personal computers and methods of updating databases Ability to effectively communicate Preferred Qualifications Two years of experience operating a multiline telephone or switchboard system One year experience acquiring configuring and troubleshooting mobile devices such as smart phones and tablets Work experience with wireless providers (Verizon ATT Sprint) and their corporate billing ITIL Foundation training Experience with issue tracking and work ticketing systems (ServiceNow Remedy etc) Equal Employment Opportunity CRI is an Equal Opportunity Employer MFDV VoIP Cisco Avaya Wireless Verizon AT&T Sprint Remedy
