The Telecommunications Technician will be responsible for working and configuring the existing phone system and ACD. The candidate for this position must have proven experience supporting telecom equipment utilized for call center purposes. The position will require working knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite of software as well as an eye for detail and excellent communication skills. The Telecommunications Technician will work with all IT vendors and will be responsible for negotiating the best possible rates and services for International SOS. Other responsibilities include some helpdesk level desktop support as well as disaster recovery planning and testing for the telecommunications infrastructure.

Primary Responsibilities:
  • Provide support function for Nortel PBX (Meridian Opt 61C). This will include adds, moves, changes on phone system, as well as all ACD implementations (CDNs, call treatments, etc)

  • Configure and maintain Symposium Call Center Server

  • Monitor phone system and work with vendors to correct problems

  • Provide primary support for monitoring and support of phone system peripherals such as NICE recorder, Symposium Call Center, and all operational phone related hardware and software

  • Document all telecommunications equipment configurations and implement a clean and standardized call center environment following Intl.SOS corporate standardization guidelines

  • Some desktop support

  • Liaison with all telecom IT vendors in order to receive the best prices, service and relationship for the organization

    • This includes placing service calls with vendors and ensuring prompt resolution to problems

  • Document and test all telecommunications equipment as it relates to disaster recovery configurations

Required Skills:
  • Excellent organizational skills – detail oriented

  • Ability to follow through on issues until a resolution is achieved

  • Familiarity with the Microsoft Office Suite of applications (Word, Excel, Powerpoint)

  • Excellent communication skills – verbal and written

  • 1-3 years experience working with a large ACD call center environment managing all aspects of the telecommunications equipment, including the phone switch, Symposium, NICE recorder system

Preferred Experience:
  • Nortel Meridian Opt 61C phone system experience

  • Knowledge of current IT hardware and software
