Telecounseling Coordinator: SIU Carbondale's Office of Undergraduate Admissions seeks to hire a Telecounseling Coordinator. This position is responsible for the management and operation of the Undergraduate Admissions Telecounseling office. This position requires a flexible work schedule, with typical work hours 1:30-9:00 p.m., Sunday-Thursday, year-round , dealing with problem situations during atypical work hours, managing angry callers without supervision or support of other professional staff, maintaining a complete and detailed knowledge of university recruitment information and policies, and the ability to make independent decisions and judgments.
Duties and Responsibilities: Coordinate with admissions and campus personnel to create calling campaigns in Hobsons Telecenter CRM product. Oversee and manage contacts with prospective students and families for the purpose of moving from the inquiry stage through enrollment. Ensure all calling campaigns meet the needs of university units, involve minimal overlap of students within campaigns, and are reported on accurately. Communicate effectively with campus callers to train staff, manage campaigns, resolve issues and create filters and calling campaigns in CRM product. Maintain hardware and handle problems without technical support during the evenings and Sundays.
The position hires, trains and manages student call staff. Being a liaison between the University, the general public, and other institutional personnel, the manner in which the employee conducts himself/herself is most important.
Minimum Qualifications: Bachelor's degree and at least one year experience in one of the following: sales, classroom instruction, recruitment of prospective college students or public speaking; knowledge of sales or enrollment management technology computing programs, such as use of Banner or another student information system, CRM technology, GIS programs, statistical programs, or advanced data processing and management.
Preferred Qualifications: Graduate of SIU Carbondale. Experience with CRM technology, one-year supervisory experience, experience with Banner or another student information system. Undergraduate involvement at SIU Carbondale through student organizations, student employment or other student activities; undergraduate experience in organizations or activities; post-graduate involvement with SIU Carbondale through alumni activities, city/university activities, or other activities; strong writing skills, as indicated in the cover letter and resume; one year of working with prospective student populations at the high school or community college level; computer programming experience, experience with GIS programs, statistical programs, or advanced data processing and management.
Salary Range: $2,451 - $3,677 with a midpoint of $3,064 monthly.
