: Coordinates reviews of site development proposals and evaluates alternatives and conformance with City policies, ordinances and plans; prepares and presents staff reports to the City Planning Commission regarding such proposals; serves as staff liaison for review boards and ad-hoc committees; researches and prepares comprehensive written reports analyzing land use and urban design issues and makes recommendations for action; presents and communicates technical planning information in public meetings; organizes and facilitates public engagement processes; drafts and interprets zoning code language; reviews permit applications for conformance with city development codes; responds to inquiries regarding city development requirements; provides planning support to the building permit/construction inspection process.
: Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university. At least three years progressively responsible planning or planning-related experience. At least one year project or program management experience. Valid Driver’s license.
: Master’s Degree from an accredited college or university with major coursework in Urban Planning, Environmental Planning, Architecture, Landscape Architecture or a closely related field.
: Will typically work weekdays between 8:00 a.m. and 5:00 p.m., but some evening and/or weekend work is possible. Position may be full or part time.
