TITLE: Donation Attendant San Mateo Store
REPORTS TO: Donation Supervisor

JOB SUMMARY: (the purpose of the role)
Act as a public representative of Goodwill’s mission and ensure that donors receive a pleasant donation experience. Accepts material goods donations at different locations by providing customer service to repeat donors and potential donors. Maximize value of donated goods by proper handling, sorting and recording of inventory.

PRIMARY ACCOUNTABILITIES & RESPONSIBILITIES: (Accountabilities = the WHAT. Establish partnerships with donors to ensure a continuous flow of goods
Proper logging of donor counts on a daily basis including proper logging of all eWaste donations
Utilize the 5 basic steps system

Offer tax receipts to donors and provide assistance in unloading donations
Handle goods and equipment properly to avoid damage or breakage
Assist drivers in loading / unloading of goods or equipment
Communicate needed reports and information in a timely manner
Sort and label goods by category and place in proper containers or equipment
Separate high-end goods, computer and computer accessory and place in proper equipment
Fill out needed production and inventory reports
Stack donated goods neatly and safely
Perform basic arithmetical calculations including addition, subtraction, division and multiplication
Hand out marketing materials to donors
Greet donors and provide information about Goodwill’s donation policy, mission and programs
Maintain clean housekeeping around donation area (about 50 ft. radius)
Assist supervisor in providing on the job training to new staff, participants, clients and volunteers
Perform “Processor” function when needed

QUALIFICATIONS: (education, work experience, and technical competencies)

High School education or Equivalent preferred.
Previous experience in customer service, communication and dealing with a diverse public preferred
Recognize recyclable materials
Read and write legibly
Must be able to work evening and weekend hours
Must be able to lift at least 50 lbs
California Driver License
Respects and has knowledge of cultures, ethnicities, gender, sexual orientations and age groups other than one’s own, able to work effectively with all.
