Description of Duties/Qualifications

Description of Duties: • Read, comprehend, and follow engineering drawings and procedures to assemble medical devices. • Write legibly to record production and inspection results to meet FDA requirements. • Calculate labor standards by using simple mathematical principles while computing production efficiencies by using standard rates and converting to percentage. • Produce defect-free product within established labor standard(s). • Crimps, stakes, screws, bolt, rivets, welds, cements, press fits, or performs similar operations to join or secure parts in place. • Measure, adjust, cut, and trim materials from components to achieve specified electrical or dimensional characteristics based on written Manufacturing Procedures or Engineering Drawings using rulers, calipers, syringes, or other basic measuring equipment (in metric or standard) that assist in calculating range, ratio, and percentage in whole numbers, fractions, and decimal formats. • Assemble medical device accessories pursuant to written procedures and validated protocols by performing intermediate assembly tasks such as: o Epoxy bonding, curing, stamping, etching, and color coding parts and assemblies. o Connecting component lead wires to printed circuit, or routes and connects wires between individual component leads and other components, connectors, terminals, and contact points using soldering equipment or mechanical attachment equipment such as crimpers. o Utilize machines that press, shape, measure, trim, or wind component parts (ie. transformer winders) and equipment that packages final products (ie. tray sealers). This includes programming and setting up the machine using written procedures to follow established settings and protocols. o Assemble end product consisting of between 25 to 50 components, 20% which are assembled under a microscope or other magnifying equipment. • Perform online go/no-go testing and inspection to ensure parts and assemblies meet specifications and standards. Qualifications: • High school diploma or equivalent preferred. • 1 year related work experience preferred. • Experience with soldering stations, microscopes, and common hand tools required. • Capable of correctly inserting electrical and mechanical components per drawing notes and established standards. • Component recognition is required for custom parts. • Able to work well as both an individual and in a team setting. • Require lifting of up to 50 pounds, unassisted. • Able to read, comprehend, and execute policies and procedures. • Able to write simple correspondence • Able to perform arithmetic using standard and metric units of measure, fractions, and decimals. • Able to compute rate, range, ratio, and percent. • Able to view small parts within close range to detect differences in material acceptability. • Dexterity with hands in pinching, feeling, handling, and grasping. • Clean Room environment dress requirements. • Testing required to demonstrate knowledge of matching, coding, measuring, inspecting, and math.
