This position is for approximately 4 - 6 months

Responsibilities: Under the direction of the Manager, Digital Content, perform day-to-day quality reviews of IEEE.org content and other IEEE Web content as deemed appropriate •
Assist with content inventory for IEEE.org and perform ongoing site-wide content review •
Work with staff contributors to ensure that needed content updates are made in a timely basis; this may require:
-extensive work in content management system
-documentation/written evaluation of content section and recommendations
-socialization/negotiation of updates with stakeholders/contributors
-editorial support including content rewrites, new content creation, and information architecture revisions •
Assist with management and maintenance of corporate Web team managed site sections and pages •
Act as a point of contact for content review communications related to main site content quality; •
Encourage and employ user-centric design methodologies •
Assist with IEEE Styles and standards guide maintenance to establish and encourage high-quality content expectations throughout the IEEE Web presence •
Assist other Integrated Marketing & Corporate Communications staff members with additional assignments as needed

Requirements: Overall expertise in writing, editing, and grammar rules, as well as how these elements apply to the area of Web communications. Ability to strongly advocate for the user during all phases of the design process. Excellent written and oral communications skills. Personal project and time management skills; ability to manage multiple, diverse projects simultaneously in complex environments. Strong detail orientation, and attention to accuracy and consistency

Understanding of IEEE. Thorough understanding of Web usability and accessibility standards and best practices. Ability to advise/train others in web-related skills. Excellent presentation skills, including the ability to present effectively to large, cross-functional audiences.

Must be a technologically savvy knowledge worker who seeks out technology solutions to business challenges. Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications. Proficiency with content management tools. Basic knowledge of HTML, XML, Dreamweaver and CSS.
