The Skidmore College Counseling Center is looking for a part-time (no less than 3 days/week) temporary contract clinician for the remainder of the academic year, beginning as soon as possible and extending until May 23, 2014. Job duties will include a mix of short-term psychotherapy with college students, crisis intervention, consultation, and participation in the Center's multidisciplinary treatment team.
Candidates should possess a doctorate in Clinical or Counseling Psychology or a Master's in Social Work; have completed a supervised internship; be licensed or license-eligible within 2 years as a psychologist or L.C.S.W. in New York State. Candidates who are not fully licensed will be considered if they have strong diagnostic and clinical skills and a demonstrated history of quality clinical work within a short term focus in outpatient settings.
All candidates must possess strong diagnostic and culturally competent clinical skills as well as experience in working with a broad array of psychological, emotional, and developmental concerns; have experience in working with a traditional college-aged population; and a demonstrated ability to work successfully with diverse populations including students of color, international students, and GLBTQ students. Expertise in working with eating disorders or substance abuse is not required, but would be desirable. Applicants must provide proof of current professional liability insurance.
Salary will be commensurate with experience.
M.S.W. in social work or a Ph.D. or Psy.D. in counseling or clinical psychology. Candidates who are close to attaining a final degree and who require clinical supervision may also be considered.
M.S.W. in social work or a Ph.D. or Psy.D. in psychology preferred.
