Adheres to the standardized cleaning procedures and time schedules as specified by the department Keeps to schedule when cleaning apartments Works in a team approach with partner Maintains equipment in good working condition and returns equipment to proper location after use Reports any repair needs to supervisor Orders supplies and equipment from the housekeeping storeroom Reports any unusual occurrences concerning residents, employees or visitors safety and well being Incumbent will be scheduled to work on the skilled care units or the community building during weekend shifts Incumbent will adhere to all regulations as they pertain to Health Care Performs other duties as assigned by a supervisor Accountable for following the standardized cleaning procedures as established by the department. Ensures that each apartment is given the same level of cleaning in the time allowed. Maintains a standard of cleanliness as established by the department. Accountable for attending in-services and seminars as they relate to the position. Accountable for following the time allotments for the individual apartments as specified by the department. Responsible for the correct cluster linen packaging on assigned day. Accountable for communication to supervisor as it relates to the well being of residents, guest and co-workers. Accountable for properly following all safety and sanitation regulations and departmental practices. Responsible for care of draperies and other assorted items as they are brought to the laundry room. Handles soiled linen according to procedures. Records amount of linen washed daily and follows directions and schedules. Responsible for packaging clean linen for pick up by various departments. Processes and rejects linens according to procedures. Informs supervisor of needed supplies. Cleans laundry equipment on a daily basis. Works with Heavy Duty Cleaner/Sanitation staff on a daily basis. Works with representatives from supply and repair companies as it pertains to laundry equipment. Operates all equipment in a safe manner. Follows all safety and sanitation regulations and practices. Ensures that the linen meets standards for quality and cleanliness for all areas of service. Wears PPE (Protective Personal Equipment) when working with soiled linens.
General knowledge of housekeeping duties and assigned areas. Basic knowledge of the safe operation and proper use of housekeeping machinery, tools, supplies and equipment. Requires one year experience preferably in housekeeping. Must have the ability to lift 20 pounds repeatedly during the shift and to move light furniture. Must have the ability to perform a variety of repetitive tasks. Must have the ability to maintain confidentiality of all resident care information and assure residents rights and privacy is protected at all times. Must interact with residents, co-workers, visitors and medical staff in a business like professional and friendly matter. Must be able to walk, bend, twist, stoop, kneel and stretch throughout the shift. Must have the physical ability to push equipment and cart throughout the shift. Must maintain a clean and neat appearance throughout the shift. Must be able to handle working in all types of weather extremes. Must have the ability to accurately plan work routine and complete assigned duties in allotted time per apartment. Must be able to work in an environment that includes pets.
