American Language & Culture Program Lecturer Roster
The University of Idaho is seeking talented educators to join the American Language and Culture Program (ALCP) in the area of English as a Second Language instruction. These positions are part-time or full time, temporary 8-week appointments which are renewable session by session, dependent on enrollment.
RESPONSIBILITIES
The lecturers will be responsible for teaching up to 40 hours per week in levels 1-6 in all skill areas (Reading/Composition, Pronunciation, Listening/Speaking, Grammar) in a content-based program. Faculty members are responsible for: teaching the curriculum; preparing classes; conducting authentic assessment and providing on-going feedback to the students; holding office hours; advising students; attending all faculty and level coordination meetings; working on collaborative projects involving materials development, professional development, accreditation, and materials selection; upholding the faculty policies and procedures in the faculty manual; and working on projects as directed by the ALCP Coordinator.
Required Qualifications: Education: Be enrolled in a Master's TESOL program OR possess Master's degree in TESOL or a related field
Excellent organizational, communication, and writing skills
Strong intercultural communication skills
Proficiency using technology (MS Windows, Excel, PowerPoint)
Desired Qualifications:
Experience working in an accredited English for Academic Purposes (EAP)
Experience in Computer Assisted Language Learning
Experience teaching in a content-based EAP program
Experience testing/training International Teaching Assistants, publications or presentations related to English as a Second Language
Teaching awards
Grant writing
Experience using SCT Banner
Native or near native English speaker.
