This position will be responsible for supporting the operations and initiatives of the Legal Department. This is accomplished by assisting lawyers in Legal with assigned projects, client meetings, research, and administrative work as assigned. This position will require extensive use of the Microsoft Office Suite and will operate under the supervision of the General Counsel.
Review and compile information related to contracts and other legal projects
Project coordination for compliance initiatives, open records requests, and Board agenda items
Perform legal research as requested by Legal staff
Review legal materials and assist with daily administrative activities under the supervision of the General Counsel
Completion of all other projects as assigned
Must be currently enrolled in an accredited Law program pursuing a JD.
At least one year of law school.

Work may require providing advice to others outside of direct reporting relationships on specific problems or general policies. Contacts may require the consideration of different points of view to gain cooperation and acceptance of ideas.
Receives General Direction: The employee normally performs the job by following established standard operating procedures with respect to legal research and writing and interaction with clients. Performance is reviewed periodically.
Skilled: Work requires a comprehensive, practical knowledge of a technical field with use of analytical judgment and decision-making abilities appropriate to the work environment of the organization.
Advanced: Ability to read literature, books, reviews, scientific or technical journals, abstracts, financial reports, and/or legal documents.
Intermediate: Ability to deal with system of real numbers; practical application of fractions, percentages, ratios/proportions and measurement. Familiarity with basic accounting is a plus but not required.
Advanced: Ability to efficiently perform legal research, apply legal principles to the facts of cases, and write clear legal memoranda and pleadings that accurately reflect the applicable facts and law.
Minimum GPA of 3.0 or evidence of a combination of knowledge and experience that indicate the capability to perform the tasks
